How do I know if I am a good candidate for this sort of treatment?
If you have a concern about the appearance of your teeth then you are a good candidate. Research shows that when we meet someone for the first time, we tend to start at the eyes but then travel to the mouth and remain there for comfort. . . . .If that happens do you not want your smile to make an impact?
How is it done?
Well we start by listening to your concerns. We understand that often friends and family may brush your concerns away with reassurances that your smile is just fine, but we know that no one understands your concerns better than you!
Once we have fully understood your concerns and given you all the cosmetic options available to you and shown you some of our cases, we then proceed by doing a Cosmetic Mouth & Facial Evaluation.
The Evaluation
This evaluation is extremely important appointment as we look at what compliments the shape of your face, taking into account things like your nose, eyes, lip line, the amount of teeth showing, the width and length of each individual tooth, the gum level, the position of each tooth and finally the colour. We also take model castes of your mouth to ensure we analyse your bite thoroughly.
The Smile Design Lift
A Smile Design Lift normally involves several teeth and many celebs call it the Hollywood Smile. To create this smile we use very fine porcelain to veneer each tooth into the desired shape and colour; it is a great option if you have crooked, worn, crowded or stained teeth.
Once you have decided to have a Smile Design Lift we create another caste model known as ‘Waxups’ . This is assimilation model of what your smile will look like in the end. It is from this model that your trial smile is made from.
A Trial Smile means that from your first visit into your treatment you will have a smile (although temporary) that you will be able to wow all your friends and relatives! It is also another good opportunity to get the opinion of others before we fit the finals. Your gums have been contoured to suit your new smile.
Once you tell us you are happy with your Trial Smile, our ceramist begins to artistically make each individual veneer to create a beautiful, natural smile!
This procedure takes a total of four appointments and is completed within two weeks of starting the treatment. On special request to coincide with a special occasion we can create your smile in a week!
Bleaching
We have a range of systems to whiten teeth cosmetically we have a High Powered Laser which whitens teeth through the heat outlay of an ultraviolet beam, an ultrasonic Whitening System which is probably one of the quickest ways of whitening teeth and the newest system on the cosmetic market and a variety of home bleaching systems. On some occasions we recommend a combination of systems to get the maximum brightness!
For those who have thought about whitening but our unsure of what it could do for them, a new product has now arrived from the USA called ‘Back 2 White’.
‘Back 2 White’ will whiten your teeth at least between 2-3 shades and can be bought through Mona Lisa Smiles, however if you are looking for 5-8 shades lighter then in house bleaching procedures are recommended.
