Cosmetic Fillings
We believe that White Cosmetic Fillings not only look good but are much healthier than the Mercury based silver fillings of the past.

Our white fillings are sculptured and colour matched so that they bond to your enamel, giving your teeth a natural look without decay!

Onlays/Inlays

Another more advanced type of filling is an Inlay/Onlay. This is a sculptured filling created by a ceramist and can be made from Gold, Porcelain and Resin.

The benefit of this type of filling is that it is the finest restoration that you can possibly have - unlike fillings, it does not just simply fill a cavity it can also bond onto the walls of a tooth structure, creating a better seal and better biting surface.

If you are thinking long term then an Inlay/Onlay will be more durable than a filling ; does not need to be replaced as often as a filling and can act in some respects as a partial crown.

Crowns

Sometimes a tooth will be so decayed that a mere filling is futile. If 90% of your tooth structure needs to be filled you might consider a crown made by a ceramist; it will keep & protect a heavily filled filling from cracking and wearing itself out.
A crown is especially recommended after a Root Canal Treatment.

Root Canal Treatment

When decay reaches the pulp of your tooth the tooth begins to become inflamed, the solution is to measure each canal with specialised instruments and then remove the decay / infection with these instruments. The canals are then filled with a flow able filling material to strengthen the canals. The process is a means to save your tooth from being extracted!

Dentures

Dentures, although being one of the most least chosen options amongst our patients , is still very much a service we provide on either a temporary or long term basis.

There are two types of dentures Acrylic Plastic & Colbalt Chromium Metal Dentures. The latter type is the better denture of the two, giving our patients better chewing capabilities and the ability to taste foods, and more comfort all around!

All our dentures are made to naturally represent the appearance of natural, healthy teeth.

Bridges

A bridge is another wonderful option for replacing missing teeth. Because of the high calibre of cosmetic work we do here at Mona Lisa Smiles, matching and fixing a bridge onto your neighbouring teeth (bridging the gap to look cosmetically pleasing), has never been easier!
